Name: Michael Willis Major: Civil Engineering Year: Junior At my high school, I never really had the opportunity to take service trips abroad. When I came to Penn State looking for clubs to join, it was the first thing on my mind, and I wandered around the involvement fair searching for an organization as committed to global development as GB. My freshman-year brigade to Honduras was a defining moment in my life and my college career. Visiting a country such as Honduras, especially when I was still very much undecided about my career path, had a huge lasting impact on my development as a student and a citizen of the world. Since, I’ve changed my career focus with the goal of being able to contribute more to the global water disparity crisis on a much more professional level. Until I’m able to work professionally to make change, my job is to spread the awareness of Global Brigades and the opportunities that it presents to students who want to make a difference.
